Delete or archive a site
Deleting a site in GeoBubbles is a soft delete โ your data is never permanently destroyed by the UI.
How to delete a site
- Open Settings โ Sites.
- Click the โฎ menu next to the site you want to remove โ Delete site.
- A confirmation dialog opens with:
- A summary of what will be archived (prompts, cities, competitors, measurement history).
- An Export prompts button to download all current prompts as a file before deletion.
- A required confirmation (type the site domain to confirm).
- Click Delete to archive the site.
What happens on delete
- The site is soft-deleted โ marked with
deleted_at(orarchived_at) in the database. - It disappears from the site switcher and dashboards.
- All collected metrics, LLM responses, SERP snapshots and reports are preserved.
- Scheduled measurement cycles for this site stop running.
- Team members lose access to the site in the UI.
Exporting prompts before deletion
The delete dialog includes a one-click Export action so you can keep a backup before removing the site. The export contains all data associated with the site โ prompts, cities, competitors, measurement history and metadata.
Deletion is permanent
Once a site is deleted, the data is gone for good. There is no in-app restore, and deleted sites cannot be brought back by support. Make sure you export everything you need before confirming.
What is not deleted
- Your user account.
- Other sites you own or have access to.
- Team members (they keep access to other sites).
- Invoices and billing history.
Quota impact
After deletion, the site no longer counts toward your plan's site quota, and its prompts no longer count toward your prompt quota โ both are freed up immediately so you can add a replacement site or new prompts within the same plan limits.
