Roles: read vs read/write
GeoBubbles uses two roles for teammates: Read and Read/Write. Roles are assigned per teammate and apply across every site that teammate has been granted access to.
Read
A Read teammate can:
- View dashboards, prompts, journey analytics, reports, SERP snapshots, and visibility gaps for the sites they're invited to.
- Export data (CSV, PDF reports) for those sites.
- Receive automated email reports.
- Use the in-app chat assistant in read-only mode (queries don't create or change data).
A Read teammate cannot:
- Add, edit, archive, or delete prompts, competitors, cities, or sites.
- Connect or disconnect Search Console / Google Business profiles.
- Change site settings, scoring config, or branding.
- Invite, modify, or remove other teammates.
- Manage billing.
This role is ideal for stakeholders, clients, and read-only analysts who need visibility but should not change the configuration.
Read/Write
A Read/Write teammate can do everything a Read teammate can, plus:
- Add and archive prompts, competitors, cities, and tags.
- Connect / disconnect Search Console and Google Business properties for the sites they have access to.
- Edit site settings (branding, scoring config, recurring schedule, etc.).
- Build and edit reports, segments, and saved views.
What Read/Write still cannot do:
- Manage billing (plan upgrades, payment methods, invoices) β reserved for the workspace owner.
- Invite or remove other teammates β reserved for the workspace owner.
- Delete a whole site β also reserved for the workspace owner.
Workspace owner
The original account that created the workspace is the owner. The owner has full Read/Write on every site plus exclusive access to billing, teammate management, and site deletion. There is exactly one owner per workspace.
