    The headline composite: 40% VS + 35% SOV + 25% TMR.

    AI Impact Score (AIS)

AIS is the single number you put on a board slide. It rolls VS, SOV and TMR into one 0–100 score so trends, competitor benchmarks and time-series charts have one comparable axis.

    Formula

    AIS = (0.40 Γ— VS) + (0.35 Γ— SOV) + (0.25 Γ— TMR)

The 40 / 35 / 25 weighting reflects the strategic order of operations:

    1. VS (40%) β€” Inclusion comes first. If you're not in the answer, nothing else matters.
    2. SOV (35%) β€” Dominance is next. Once included, how much of the conversation is yours.
    3. TMR (25%) β€” Preference is the polish. Being first within an already-strong presence.

A brand that maxes VS and SOV but lags on TMR can still hit ~75 AIS. A brand that's only first-mentioned but rarely included will cap out near 25.

    How to read it

    RangeInterpretation
    70–100Category leader in AI answers.
40–69Established presence with room to grow on at least one sub-metric.
15–39Inconsistent β€” usually a VS or SOV problem; check which is dragging.
< 15Effectively invisible. Audit prompts, entity recognition, robots access.

The dashboard always shows the underlying VS / SOV / TMR alongside AIS so you can diagnose why the score moved.

    Why 3 iterations matter

Each LLM check runs 3 iterations in a single measurement cycle. The same prompt is sent multiple times because LLM answers are non-deterministic β€” your brand may be mentioned in one run and absent in the next. A single response is not a reliable signal. By collecting 3 variants and averaging the results, we get a stable, representative picture of your actual AI visibility. This also smooths out random fluctuations and gives you trend data you can trust.

    Competitor context is everything

Measuring your own brand's LLM visibility in isolation is just another data point in a sea of noise. AIS only becomes valuable when it is measured against your real business competition. That is why GeoBubbles requires you to define your competitors during site setup β€” without them, Share of Voice has no denominator and your scores lack strategic meaning.

You can add as many competitors as you need (there is no limit) directly in Settings β†’ Sites β†’ [your site] β†’ Competitors. See the New Site Setup guide for step-by-step instructions on configuring competitors, brand aliases, and entity matching.

    What AIS is not

    • Not an SEO score. AIS only measures AI surfaces (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude). For combined SEO + AI, see SES.
    • Not absolute. It's a relative score against your tracked competitor set. Add or remove competitors and AIS shifts.
    • Not a quality score. It tells you presence, dominance and preference β€” not whether the AI says nice things about you. Sentiment is handled separately in the LLM Audit report.
