How plan changes affect quotas and data retention.

    Upgrade or Downgrade

You can change your plan at any time from Settings β†’ Billing. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

    Upgrading

    When you upgrade:

    • New quotas apply immediately β€” higher prompt limits, more websites, and expanded measurement budgets are available right away.
    • No data loss β€” all historical metrics, competitor configurations, and city mappings are preserved.
    • Prorated billing β€” you are charged the difference for the remainder of the current cycle, then the full new plan amount at the next renewal.

If you hit a quota limit mid-cycle (e.g. running out of prompts), upgrading is the fastest way to unlock more capacity without waiting.

    Downgrading

    When you downgrade:

    • New quotas apply at the next billing cycle β€” you keep your current limits until the cycle ends.
    • Excess data is not deleted β€” if you have more websites or prompts than the new plan allows, nothing is removed automatically. However, you cannot add new items beyond the new limits until you bring your usage into compliance.
    • GSC retention may change β€” Local retains 3 years of Google Search Console data, Regional 4 years, and Global 5 years. Downgrading to a plan with a shorter retention window does not delete existing data, but older data may become inaccessible for new reports.
